PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smakma Bytchup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Angles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bytchup might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lunatic Fringe. Smakma Bytchup has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bytchup drives through and clinches with Angles against the cage.
Bytchup has had enough of the clinch but Angles keeps him there for the moment.

Angles tightens his grip and picks Bytchup up, before dumping him to the ground. Bytchup manages to land in guard.

Bytchup is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Angles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Angles has gone for a leg lock! Bytchup slips out almost immediately though and dives into Angles's guard.

Bytchup drops back looking for a leg! Angles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Angles manages to kick Bytchup off! Bytchup jumps back into Angles's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Angles is on top in guard.

Angles drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bytchup manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Angles has Bytchup in his guard.

Bytchup drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bytchup jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Angles will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Angles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bytchup but Bytchup pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The referee warns Bytchup that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Angles throws a strike but Bytchup rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bytchup will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Angles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bytchup gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Bytchup is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Angles's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Angles's back!

Bytchup is cranking Angles's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Angles! He's tightened the choke and Angles is tapping out!
