Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Lyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iii has chosen IRON MAIDEN : Alexander the Great as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Alexander Iii enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Iii.
Iii just misses with a punch to the body.
Iii rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lyle counters with a thumping low kick.
Lyle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lyle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iii manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Iii connects with a body shot.

Iii misses with a right hand
and Lyle counters with a slapping leg kick.
Iii waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lyle.
Lyle misses with a head kick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lyle keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Iii.
Iii rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lyle counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Lyle fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Iii is out of range.
Lyle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Lyle throws a sloppy head kick and Iii moves out of range easily.

Iii throws an off balance right hand
and Lyle counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Iii is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Lyle throws a lazy head kick
and Iii counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lyle moves out of range of the strikes.
Iii swings widly with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Lyle throws a body kick that misses.
Iii throws a lazy uppercut

and Lyle counters with a head kick that drops Iii!

Iii is rocked!
Lyle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lyle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Iii looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Iii looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Iii!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Iii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lyle keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Lyle counters with a slapping leg kick.

and Lyle counters with a head kick. That will keep Iii thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Lyle lands with a slapping head kick.
Iii is still on wobbly legs! Can Lyle finish him?
Iii is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lyle.
Iii seems to have recovered his senses.

Iii throws out a loose jab but Lyle uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lyle throws a head kick but Iii moves out of range.
Lyle misses with a hook
and Iii counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lyle thinking.
Iii throws a looping overhand right but Lyle ducks down to avoid it.

Iii avoids the head kick by Lyle.
Iii is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Iii connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lyle tries to land a front kick but Iii steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Iii throws a lazy uppercut
and Lyle counters with a leg kick.

Lyle lands a head kick that stumbles Iii and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Alexander Iii has been cut.
Iii is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lyle is controlling him.
Iii seems keen to control Lyle's posture.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lyle's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lyle throws a strike but Iii rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lyle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Iii defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Alexander Iii's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Lyle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jon Lyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Iii throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lyle sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Lyle makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Lyle throws a chopping leg kick but Iii manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Iii looks to score with a jab to the body but Lyle is just out of range.

Iii thows a body shot but no joy.

Lyle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Iii.
A slow jab from Iii misses its intended target.
Lyle throws a head kick that misses.

Lyle walks into a left hand.
Lyle ducks under a wild hook from Iii.
Lyle fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Iii checks it well.
Alexander Iii has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A head kick from Lyle lands but Iii takes it in his stride.
Iii misses with a straight right.
Lyle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
