Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stan Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stan Mathers looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Mathers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Young!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers fails with a takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Young.
Young happy to just control the position for now.
I looks like Young might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mathers is trying to work for a sweep but Young has mounted him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young moves to take his opponent's back.

Young looking to break Mathers's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mathers remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Young will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Mathers turns into Young and is now in his guard.

Young had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mathers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Young Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mathers's back instead.

Young lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Mathers.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Young holds on and takes a little breather.

Young is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mathers dodges the punch combination from Young.

Young throws a right and a left that both miss.
Young looks to land a combination but Mathers avoids it well.
Mathers has his takedown stuffed

and Young counters with a takedown into side control.
Young is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mathers will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mathers tries to bench press Young off him but Young keeps the position.

Young stands up and beckons Mathers to his feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Young, as that shot connected.

and Young counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Young.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Young is pushing down on Mathers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mathers is fighting to maintain full guard but Young has managed to sneak the leg through.

Young is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mathers can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

James Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

James Young comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Young has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
