Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bates circles away.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Bates sprawls well.
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bates swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyreke Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bates tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily
and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bates won't be happy with that.
Johnson prevents Bates from escaping the position.
Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bates tries to escape but Johnson is in control.
Johnson has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Johnson fails to advance to Bates's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bates is now in Johnson's guard. A big mistake from Johnson there, giving up the dominant position!
Bates is sitting in close to Johnson's body. Johnson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Bates is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Bates is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Johnson.
