Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Anson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tre Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anson comes to the cage accompanied by ''South of Heaven'' by The Electric Hellfire Club. Barnes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seth Anson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tre Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anson moves into the clinch.
Barnes working hard to break the clinch.
Anson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Anson lands a body shot.
Barnes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Anson has him pressed against the cage.

Barnes struggles to land a body shot inside as Anson controls his hands.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Anson.


It looks like Tre Barnes has been cut.
Barnes stops a takedown attempt from Anson.
Barnes wants to break the clinch but can't.
Barnes tries to stall but Anson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Anson blocks a body shot from Barnes.
Barnes is trying to push Anson away but Anson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Anson pushes Barnes back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Barnes misses with a punch on the inside.
Anson is leaning against Barnes and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Barnes breaks from the clinch.
Barnes has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Anson finds it's way round the side to connect with Barnes's head.

Anson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barnes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barnes is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Anson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Anson lands a nice short elbow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barnes looking for a sweep. Not yet Barnes, not yet.

Barnes can't keep his opponent in guard - Anson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Anson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barnes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Barnes holds on and takes a little breather.
Anson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Barnes throws a solid leg kick but Anson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Barnes.
Barnes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Anson.
Anson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Anson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barnes.
Barnes wants to clinch but Anson slips to the side

and Anson counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Anson swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Anson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Barnes lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Anson or not.
Barnes misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Anson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Barnes is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Still in the clinch, Anson scores with a nice short uppercut.
Anson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.
Anson lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Barnes.
Anson works on Barnes's body with a couple of short punches.
Barnes tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Barnes tries to land knees in the clinch but Anson avoids the damage to the body.
Anson is pressed up against the cage. Barnes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Anson down to the mat. Anson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Barnes throws a head kick but Anson moves out of range.
Barnes wants to clinch up but Anson keeps it at a distance.

Barnes leaves Anson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Anson gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Barnes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anson misses with a leg kick
and Barnes counters with a good low kick that Anson was not able to check.
Barnes lands a right hook to the body.

and Anson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Seth Anson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tre Barnes.

Barnes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Anson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Barnes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anson.
Anson shoots in for a double leg but Barnes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Barnes lands a head shot.

Barnes gets caught napping as Anson dives in and scores a takedown. Barnes manages to retain guard.
Barnes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Barnes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Anson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

BOOM! Barnes connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Poor strikes thrown by Barnes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Barnes cracks Anson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee warns Anson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Barnes landing strikes, looking to finish!
Tre Barnes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barnes wants to control the pace but Anson is squirming around nicely.

Barnes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Barnes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Barnes cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tre Barnes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Anson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
