PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Alkofer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alkofer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones trying to control here.
Alkofer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Alkofer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alkofer looks to land a strike but Jones avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Alkofer wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Alkofer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Alkofer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Alkofer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Alkofer is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Alkofer ducks under a wild hook from Jones.

Alkofer tries a knee to the head but Jones blocks it.

A nice inside leg kick there by Alkofer. That's going to slow Jones down.
Jason Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alkofer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
Alkofer is looking to advance position but Jones has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Jones has hold of Alkofer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alkofer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jason Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
