Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pete Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mistigris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Falling to Pieces. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Daniels!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Mistigris!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mistigris won't allow Daniels to pass to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mistigris can do anything to dispel that myth.
Daniels performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Mistigris is trying to stand back up but Daniels is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels throwing shots but Mistigris is blocking nicely.
Daniels working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Daniels sitting and controlling from the half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Daniels has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Daniels has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Daniels seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mistigris for as long as he can get away with.
Mistigris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We're going to have a standup here because Pete Daniels wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Mistigris keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Daniels tries to bum rush Mistigris with a series of wild strikes but Mistigris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Daniels throws a series of punches but Mistigris avoids them all with ease.
Mistigris misses with a left hand
and Mistigris takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mistigris walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Daniels lands a glancing blow to the side of Mistigris's head.
Mistigris lands a slapping body shot.
Daniels fails to land with a series of punches.
Daniels connects with a nice looking jab.
Daniels misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mistigris.
Mistigris misses with a left hand

and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Daniels takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mistigris on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.


It looks like Jack Mistigris has been cut.
Daniels works his foot free and advances to mount.
Daniels takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Daniels lands a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daniels pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Daniels is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Daniels!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Pete Daniels!
