Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trapp Deathgrip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lebron James!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deathgrip misses with a takedown attempt
and James counters with an inside leg kick.
Deathgrip leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Deathgrip misses with a left hand
and James counters with a straight right hand.
James tries for a takedown but Deathgrip circles away easily

and Deathgrip counters with a takedown into side control.

Deathgrip tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Deathgrip has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
James misses with an elbow from the bottom.
James manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

James looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Deathgrip is looking to advance position but James won't allow it.

Deathgrip is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and James defends it well.

Deathgrip is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Deathgrip wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
Deathgrip has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Deathgrip is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But James has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from James!

James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

James is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Deathgrip is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Deathgrip has escaped and now he's on top!

Deathgrip is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Deathgrip defends it easily.

Deathgrip drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deathgrip jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deathgrip. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

James doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

James is looking for a triangle but Deathgrip pushes his legs off easily.

That's time! Deathgrip's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jab, jab by James - just one landing.

James goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Deathgrip turns into him and now he's in James's guard.
Deathgrip wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

James looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Deathgrip is aware though and is defending well.

Deathgrip drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Deathgrip off! Deathgrip jumps back into James's guard.

James is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
James is breathing heavily.

Deathgrip is pushing down on James's leg trying to pass to half guard. James is fighting to maintain full guard but Deathgrip has managed to sneak the leg through.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Deathgrip wants to work for an arm triangle but James is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Deathgrip moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from James.

Deathgrip is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but James is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Deathgrip slows the pace down.

Deathgrip wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by James, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Deathgrip is working to tighten is grip on James's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. James has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Deathgrip is really squeezing tight and eventually James passes out! Deathgrip breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
