The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook lands the left hand.
It looks like Emeka Shakur has been cut.
Cook bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shakur's head.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shakur swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cook checks a leg kick.
Cook lands a jab to Shakur's midsection.
Nice shot lands for Cook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shakur loads up on a big right hand but Cook slips the punch.
Cook wants to clinch but Shakur slips to the side
and Shakur counters with an outside leg kick.
Shakur throws a low kick but Cook avoids it.
Shakur misses with a hook to the body
and Shakur takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A big right from Shakur misses.
Cook is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Shakur throws out a loose jab but Cook uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cook lands a body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cook looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Shakur throws a right and a left that Cook avoids nicely.
Shakur misses with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cook misses with an uppercut
and Shakur makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Shakur misses with a lunging right hand
and Cook counters with a nice body shot.
Shakur connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Cook swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shakur makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Cook looks gassed!
Shakur scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cook doesn't seem bothered though.
Shakur feints with a jab and clips Cook right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Cook is sent crashing into the canvas and Shakur leaps in for the kill! Cook tries to get to his feet but Shakur is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Cook is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Emeka Shakur!
