Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Velasquez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Velasquez passes to full mount!
Jackson tries to hold on but Velasquez postures up.
Velasquez wants to control the pace but Jackson is squirming around nicely.
Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jackson postures up.

Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.

Velasquez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Velasquez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A low kick from Jackson is predictable there

and Velasquez counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Velasquez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Velasquez stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Velasquez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Jackson scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Velasquez clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage.

Velasquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Velasquez trying to control the position but instead, Jackson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Velasquez into the cage.
Velasquez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jackson up against the cage.
Jackson pushes Velasquez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Velasquez taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Velasquez is leaning against Jackson and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Jackson tightens his grip and picks Velasquez up, before dumping him to the ground. Velasquez manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Velasquez has his feet on Jackson's thighs here. He's pushed Jackson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jackson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
