Soares has chosen Highway To Hell as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Thiago Soares is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vodkin has his takedown stuffed
and Soares counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Soares looks to land a combination. Vodkin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Sergey Vodkin has been cut.
Soares is pawing at Vodkin, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Vodkin's nose. Vodkin is badly hurt! Soares pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Vodkin tries desperately to hold on but Soares is relentless in his assault! As Vodkin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Soares away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thiago Soares!
