Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Mallao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Marciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallao throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Marciano.

and Mallao counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marciano won't be happy with that.

Mallao decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marciano to his feet.

Mallao changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marciano looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mallao decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marciano to his feet.

and Mallao counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marciano enables Mallao to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marciano manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Marciano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mallao gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mallao is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mallao sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Marciano's guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mallao lands a nice short elbow.

BOOM! Mallao connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mallao moves to the back position.
Mallao has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Marciano's body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Marciano is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mallao throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Marciano stumbling backwards into the cage! Marciano bounces back off the cage towards Mallao, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Mallao lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Mallao celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
