Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between The Stig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Give it Away. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, The Stig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Austin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith gets tackled into the ropes by Stig. Stig maintains the clinch.
Nice body punch from Stig.
Stig comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Austin Smith has been cut.
Stig cracks Smith with a nice body shot.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stig closes the distance but Smith moves to the side

and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stig is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Smith pushes Stig off looking to stand but Stig dives back in and keeps control.

Smith kicks off Stig and gets to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stig throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stig tries to clinch up

and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Stig didn't expect that.
Stig not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Stig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Smith trying to control but Stig is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Stig is retaining full guard.
Smith is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Austin Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Stig tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Stig fights it but they end up in guard.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Stig gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stig stops Smith from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stig is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because The Stig just wasn't active enough.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Austin Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Austin Smith's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Smith tries for a takedown but Stig sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stig tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Smith counter with a right hand.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.

Stig gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Stig manages to retain guard.
Stig can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stig does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stig kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Stig is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith is trying for a kimura here. Stig looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Smith wins by kimura!
