PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lars Fightmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manningham Snapple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snapple has chosen Young Money-YM Salute as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Lars Fightmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Manningham Snapple!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snapple misses with a low kick.
Fightmann dodges the punch combination from Snapple.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fightmann.
Fightmann lands a two punch combo.
Fightmann lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fightmann ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snapple moves away.
Snapple moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Fightmann throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Snapple tries a head kick but it misses.
Snapple jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Fightmann lands a nice shot to the body.

Fightmann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Snapple sprawls well initially but Fightmann persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snapple tries to get to full guard but Fightmann has control of the leg.

Fightmann looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fightmann is nestled in close to Snapple, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fightmann is thwarting Snapple's attempts to control the position.

Fightmann is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Snapple is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fightmann thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fightmann looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Snapple is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fightmann pulls his head out easily.
Fightmann slips a nice elbow through Snapple's hands, connecting with Snapple's forehead.
Snapple is trying to stand up here but Fightmann is controlling him well.
Snapple is pressing down on Fightmann's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fightmann working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Snapple's head.
Fightmann works over Snapple with some ground and pound from guard.
Snapple looks gassed!

Fightmann thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fightmann works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Snapple avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fightmann.
Snapple is looking for a sweep. Fightmann is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Snapple wants to control but Fightmann is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Snapple on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Fightmann looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Snapple with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fightmann works his way into full mount!
Fightmann has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Snapple's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snapple's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Fightmann fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fightmann lands a nice shot to the head.
Snapple is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fightmann trying to control but he's not successful this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fightmann landing strikes from the mount and Snapple is in trouble!


It looks like Manningham Snapple has been cut.
Fightmann working the ground and pound effectively.
Fightmann tries to control but Snapple wriggling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fightmann in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lars Fightmann dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Manningham Snapple's cut.
That's time! Fightmann's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Fightmann closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fightmann throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fightmann thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Snapple's head.

Fightmann thows a huge punch but Snapple dodges it nicely.

Manningham Snapple's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Manningham Snapple's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Lars Fightmann!
