Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mahmut Demir!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Demir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Demir throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Demir throwing shots but Kong is blocking nicely.
Demir wants to control but Kong is keeping him busy.
Demir not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kong is breathing heavily.
Kong avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Demir.
Demir is looking to take a break and control but Kong is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Demir not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mahmut Demir.

Demir dives in and scores a takedown into Kong's guard.
Demir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kong avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Demir tries to free his leg and advance position but Kong is retaining full guard.
Demir stands and throws Kong's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Demir takes a little break here. Kong wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kong stops Demir from passing to mount.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Demir drives through with a takedown into Kong's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Demir lands a couple of digs.
Demir slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Demir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kong on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kong tries to get out of the position.
Kong keeping moving, preventing Demir from controlling successfully.
Demir wants to pass the guard but Kong is keeping the position.
Demir wants to control from the top but Kong keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mahmut Demir wasn't active enough on the ground.

Demir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kong is letting Demir control him for a moment.
Kong takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Demir lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kong down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Demir advances to mount.

Demir controlling from mount.
Demir working the ground and pound effectively.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Demir lands a big shot there that rocks Kong but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Demir wants to control the pace but Kong is squirming around nicely.

Demir takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Demir cracks Kong with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kong is in a horrible position here. Demir smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Demir with shots to the head and body - Kong looks very uncomfortable down there.
Demir raining down hammerfists from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Demir working the ground and pound effectively.
Demir working away from the top, dropping strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Demir breaks from Kong's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mahmut Demir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Kong enables Demir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Demir lands a couple of elbows.
Demir lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Demir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Demir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Demir controls from within his opponent's guard.

Demir pushing down on Kong's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Kong is letting Demir control him for a moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Demir misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Demir has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Demir is staying tight to Kong's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The strikes coming from Demir are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Kong prevents Demir from moving into mount.
Demir lands an elbow.
Kong taking punishment in the form of punches.
Mahmut Demir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kong prevents Demir from improving position.
Demir throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Kong takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Demir stalls from top position.
Sloppy strikes there by Demir.
Demir working the head and body with strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mahmut Demir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Demir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
