The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luceno takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Thunders lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Thunders uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Luceno.
Luceno throws a sloppy head kick and Thunders moves out of range easily.

Luceno closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Luceno lands in his opponent's guard.

Luceno is standing up over Thunders. Thunders looks to escape but Luceno dives into side control.

Thunders pushes Luceno away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Luceno gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Labayen Luceno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thunders stuns Luceno with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Thunders connects with a leg kick. Luceno looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Luceno takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Thunders bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Luceno's head.

Thunders drops Luceno with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Luceno looks back up at him and smiles so Thunders waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Luceno shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thunders but Thunders pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Luceno is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Thunders and Luceno are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Thunders throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Luceno into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Thunders knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
