Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Simon!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Son with that takedown attempt.
Son fails with a takedown attempt.
Son cracks Simon with a right hand to the side of the head.
Simon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Son misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Son. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Son will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Son closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Son lands in his opponent's guard.
Simon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Simon wants to stand up but Son is controlling him.

Simon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Son throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Simon lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Son at a distance.
Daniel Son seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Son is breathing heavily.
Son looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simon is fending him off so far but Son persists. Nope, Simon circles away and we're back to standing.
A good leg kick by Simon.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Simon avoids the body shot from Son.

Simon clinches.
Good body shot from Simon.
Simon holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Simon using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Simon scores a nice knee to the body.
Simon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Simon tries a knee to the head but Son blocks it.
Simon wants to stall.

Son turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Son manages to end up in side control.
Son is chipping away with strikes.

Son is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Simon looks calm but he's in trouble here. Son gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Simon is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Son lets go of the hold and Simon can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Daniel Son!
