Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Carona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuki Nakai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Julio Carona!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakai looking to score a takedown here. Carona is defending well but Nakai drives through and ends up in Carona's guard.
Carona is trying to keep Nakai in close.
Carona can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakai controls the pace.
Carona really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nakai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carona can't keep his opponent in guard - Nakai advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nakai not doing much here.
Nakai's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nakai looks to land a strike but Carona avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Carona throws his legs up looking for a submission but Nakai uses it to pass to side control.

Nakai remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nakai has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Nakai seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carona for as long as he can get away with.
Carona gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Carona tries to lock up and control but Nakai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nakai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carona knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Nakai has an Americana. Carona didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nakai is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nakai hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
