PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zeus Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zeus Vader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Helio Gracie!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Gracie misses
and Vader counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Vader lands a jab to Gracie's midsection.
Gracie misses the body punch

and Vader counters by moving into the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Vader.
Vader displaying some good clinch control by pressing Gracie up against the cage.
Vader lands a hook to the side of the head.
Vader stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie jumps guard but Vader stands there with Gracie around his waist. Gracie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Vader pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vader throws a nice head kick!
Vader misses with a head kick.
Vader paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Vader throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.

and Vader counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

With the fighters up against the cage, Vader throws an elbow but misses.
Gracie tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vader avoids it.

Vader is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gracie is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Vader to the mat. Vader regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Gracie wants to stand and escape but instead Vader has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gracie wants to get back to his feet but Vader is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Gracie looks gassed!

Gracie scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Vader lands with a kick to the temple. Gracie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Vader tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie throws a poor cross that misses
and Vader counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gracie misses with a double jab
and Vader counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vader connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off.
Gracie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gracie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Vader chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Vader connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gracie falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vader counters with a low kick, right behind Gracie 's knee.
Good standup being displayed there by Vader as he connects with a hook.
Gracie misses with a jab to the body
and Vader cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vader tests Gracie's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vader throws a nice head kick!

Gracie takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie takes one on the button.
Vader fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Vader thuds his right hand into Gracie's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice body kick from Vader.
Vader scores with a jab. Gracie acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Vader plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie throws a sloppy head kick
and Vader counters with a straight right hand.
Zeus Vader is winning the standup battle so far.
Gracie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vader counters with a body kick that stops Gracie in his tracks momentarily.
Vader connects with a body shot.
Helio Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vader connects with a jab.
Vader pushes Gracie away with a front kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Gracie takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Vader is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gracie can do to turn this around?
Vader lands with a right hand.

Vader throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Gracie throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Vader throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Vader digs a good body shot into Gracie's ribs.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Vader gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vader lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Vader scores with a nice short uppercut.

Gracie is rocked!

Vader throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gracies head.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Vader finish him?
Vader unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Gracie! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Vader is unloading with more strikes now! Gracie drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
