Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harjan Varsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thompson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thats Entertainment - The Jam. Varsi has chosen Hiski Salomaa - Tiskarin polkka as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Thompson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Varsi's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Varsi throws a hook to the side of Thompson's head but Thompson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Thompson throws a shot from downtown. Varsi moves away and avoids it.

and Varsi counters with a nice right hand that sends Thompson toppling to the canvas! Thompson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Varsi finish him?!
Varsi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Thompson throws the left hand but Varsi avoids the punch easily.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Varsi in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Thompson might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

and Varsi counters with a crisp one two that drops Thompson! Varsi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Thompson to his feet! Thompson is in big trouble!
Varsi pounces like a tiger and cracks Thompson with a vicious hook! Thompson is down but not out! Varsi follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
