Mendes moves in looking to clinch but Challis pushes him off.
Mendes avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Challis wants to get back to striking at distance but Mendes won't allow it.

Mendes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Challis uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Challis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mendes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Challis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Mendes has tightened it up now! Challis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
