Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amoussou Karl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Charles Goive!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goive feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Karl is looking for a triangle here but Goive uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Karl is looking for a sweep.
Goive controlling the position from side mount.
Karl is trying to get back to half guard.
Karl trying to remain calm as Goive controls from the top position.

Goive looks up at the clock and then as Karl takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Goive smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Goive uses his free foot to push down on Karl's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Karl.

Goive got a little sloppy there for a moment and Karl has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Goive has managed to get both his arms back between Karl's legs - danger averted.
Goive not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Goive must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Goive throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Karl tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Goive is in Karl's guard.

Goive drops back looking for a leg! Karl is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Karl manages to kick Goive off! Goive jumps back into Karl's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Charles Goive was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Karl doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Goive counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Goive trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Goive wanted to stand there but Karl had control of the position.
Goive seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Goive bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Karl sneaks back into half guard.

Goive is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Karl wants to improve his position but Goive is controlling well.

Well Goive has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
