Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Matice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Kahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matice's entrance music is It's a Fight. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kahn's choice of entrance music: Boris Brejcha - Flockentanz . Oliver Kahn will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gregory Matice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oliver Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matice throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kahn.
Matice catches Kahn with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Oliver Kahn has been cut.
Matice rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

so Kahn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kahn advances to half guard.

Kahn is working for a submission of some sort.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Matice wants to improve his position but Kahn is controlling well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kahn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Matice napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Matice is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kahn off and has taken his back!
Kahn turns into Matice and is now in his guard.
Kahn works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kahn is trying to work for a kimura but Matice is defending well.
Kahn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Matice is defending against the submission attempts here by Kahn.

Kahn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Matice defends it well.
Matice really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kahn seems to be looking for submissions.

Kahn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kahn is working for a submission of some sort.

Kahn is looking for a kimura but Matice is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kahn to get the leverage.

Kahn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Matice is just riding it out for now. Kahn eventually gives up the hold.

Kahn decides to stand up.
Gregory Matice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Matice misses with a hook

and Kahn counters with a single leg into guard. Matice didn't expect that.

Kahn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kahn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matice swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Matice tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kahn throws a big right hand that misses.
Matice preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Kahn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kahn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kahn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kahn drops back looking for a leg! Matice is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matice manages to kick Kahn off! Kahn jumps back into Matice's guard.
Matice preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oliver Kahn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kahn shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Kahn in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Matice tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kahn!
