Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louie Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Masters might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ken's Theme. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters misses with a right hand

and Mendez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Masters's guard.

Masters slaps away a takedown attempt from Mendez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mendez shoots in and drives through. Masters sprawls well.

Masters turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Masters manages to end up in side control.
Mendez is trying to buck Masters off.
Masters is looking to take a break and control but Mendez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ken Masters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Masters is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mendez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
