Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Faraway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and lewis powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). lewis powell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
powell takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Faraway has taken the fight to the clinch.
powell wants to break free but Faraway has control.
powell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Faraway has him pressed against the cage.

Faraway pulls guard successfully.
powell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Faraway punching from the bottom - just letting powell know he's still in a fight.
powell is looking to stand up but Faraway won't let him.
Faraway is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
powell wants to stand but Faraway has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Faraway is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faraway is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
powell tries to kick Faraway off but Faraway keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Faraway is taking a breather. powell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Faraway slips a nice elbow through powell's hands, connecting with powell's forehead.

Faraway wants to work for an arm triangle but powell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
powell is looking to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

powell is desperately trying to improve his position but Faraway has a good base and remains in mount.

Faraway is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. powell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Faraway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Faraway has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for powell! Can he survive? No! He's out! Faraway gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
