Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Cash!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donkey Kong!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong scores with a hook.
Kong fails with the takedown
and Cash counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cash.
Kong throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Kong is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cash is aware though and is defending well.
Cash thows a big elbow that misses.
Cash stops Kong from standing up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cash being controlled here momentarily.
Kong is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cash trying to control but Kong is working from the bottom.
Kong working a defensive guard here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cash avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cash tries to clinch but Kong moves out of range.
Cash closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Kong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cash remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kong is holding Cash down, trying to stall.

Kong manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cash's best efforts.
Cash stands up from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kong lands a big head kick that sends Cash tumbling to the mat! Kong takes a step backwards and waves Cash back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Alex Cash has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kong keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kong gets in close and tags Cash with a short punch that almost sends Cash to the mat! Oh Cash is in big trouble! He turns his back on Kong, trying to create some distance but Kong rushes him, striking wildly and Cash goes down! The referee tackles Kong into the ropes to end the fight! Kong is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donkey Kong!
