Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pasi Pallihiki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bas Rutten!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten throws a head kick but Pallihiki moves out of range.
Pallihiki clinches up with Rutten and pushes him back against the cage.
Pallihiki jumps guard but Rutten stands there with Pallihiki around his waist. Pallihiki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pallihiki throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Pallihiki lands on the inside with an uppercut.
It looks like Bas Rutten has been cut.
A right handed body shot lands from Pallihiki.
Pallihiki wants a takedown.
Rutten is trying to force a seperation but Pallihiki has the dominant position.
Pallihiki gets control of Rutten's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pallihiki will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pallihiki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rutten!
Pallihiki looking to finish Rutten with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rutten!
Pallihiki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pallihiki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pallihiki lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rutten hang on?
Pallihiki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pallihiki raining down hammerfists from mount.
That has opened up Bas Rutten's cut even more.
Rutten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pallihiki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pallihiki throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Rutten has his hands clasped together but Pallihiki breaks the hold and Rutten is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Pallihiki!
