Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Acker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a series of punches but Acker avoids them all with ease.
Thompson misses with a takedown attempt
and Acker counters with a left to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thompson.
Acker tries to bum rush Thompson with a series of wild strikes but Thompson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Acker connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Thompson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Acker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Acker misses with a two punch combination.
Acker misses with a body punch
and Thompson counters with a three punch combo that has Acker backing up. Acker nods at Thompson to acknowledge the strikes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Acker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Thompson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Acker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thompson somewhat.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Acker sprawls well. Acker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Thompson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Acker defends it nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Acker checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cole Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thompson's hands.

Thompson is trying to drag Acker to the mat but Acker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Acker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Acker throws a lazy right hand but Thompson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Acker moves in looking to clinch but Thompson pushes him off.

Thompson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Thompson tries for a takedown but Acker circles away easily
and Acker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Acker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Acker won't be happy with that.

Thompson looking to sit in guard and control but Acker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

That was a close round but Gerard Acker did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Acker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Thompson needs to keep his hands up - Acker had a free shot at his head there.

Thompson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Acker.

Thompson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Thompson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Acker pinned against the cage. Acker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Acker bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cole Thompson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
