PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddi Fast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Pitbull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eddi Fast!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pitbull clinches up against the cage.
Fast wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pitbull has him pressed against the cage.

Fast is trying to break the clinch but Pitbull is controlling him.
Pitbull has Fast pressed against the cage, preventing Fast from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

A frustrated look appears on Fast's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Fast breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fast misses with a right hand

and Pitbull holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Pitbull pulls guard effortlessly.
Fast looking to sit in guard and control but Pitbull gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fast isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pitbull stacks Fast on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pitbull!
Fast tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pitbull decides to stand back up. Pitbull steps back and let's Fast get back to his feet.
Pitbull listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Eddi Fast has been cut.
Eddi Fast is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pitbull wants to clinch.
Pitbull scores with a nice strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fast throws a poor cross that misses

and Pitbull counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Pitbull using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Fast wants to get back to striking at distance but Pitbull won't allow it.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Pitbull obliges.
Fast looks gassed!
Pitbull goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fast prevents it.
Pitbull lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Pitbull pulls guard.
Fast trying to control but Pitbull is working from the bottom.
Fast wants to stand and escape but instead Pitbull has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Pitbull stands up from Fast's guard - Pitbull perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pitbull looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pitbull is defended easily by Fast.
Fast throws an off balance right hand

and Pitbull counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Pitbull stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Pitbull scores with a sloppy right hand. Fast should have avoided that one.

Pitbull clinches with his opponent.

Fast breaks from the clinch.
Fast misses with an uppercut

and Pitbull counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Pitbull jumps guard and drags Fast to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pitbull pulls Fast in to control the position.
Fast must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pitbull lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fast!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pitbull gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fast throws an off balance right hand

and Pitbull counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fast wants to get back to striking at distance but Pitbull won't allow it.
Pitbull unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Pitbull has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fast uses from the top position.
Pitbull is controlling Fast's posture.
Pitbull lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fast!

Fast gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pitbull.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pitbull cracks Fast with an uppercut from hell and Fast crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Pitbull's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


That has opened up Eddi Fast's cut even more.

Pitbull stands up and waves to Fast to follow him.
Pitbull smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Pitbull tries to clinch up but Fast circles away and keeps his distance.
Eddi Fast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fast throws a lazy uppercut
and Pitbull scores with a counter punch that sends Fast to the canvas! Pitbull smells blood - he's punishing Fast with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Fast has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Pitbull!
