The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welles dodges the punch combination from Shiroka.

Shiroka tries to bum rush Welles with a series of wild strikes but Welles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Welles scores a takedown into full mount!
Shiroka takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Welles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Welles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Welles lands a big shot there that rocks Shiroka but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Shiroka tries to buck Welles off but Welles takes his back!
Welles lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Shiroka hold on?!

Welles is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Shiroka has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Welles has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Shiroka taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Welles doesn't care though - he's delighted!
