Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Kalashnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vinny Vos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Kalashnikov!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vos takes a swing at Kalashnikov's ribcage but misses.
Kalashnikov throws a leg kick but Vos checks it.
Kalashnikov shoots in for a takedown but Vos shows good takedown defense.
Vos misses with a hook. Kalashnikov ducked under it nicely.
Kalashnikov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Vos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vos throws a one two combo.
Vos misses with a wild body shot.
Kalashnikov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Vinny Vos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Kalashnikov.

Vos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kalashnikov will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kalashnikov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vos's waist but Vos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalashnikov off to one side.
Kalashnikov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vos swivels and escapes.
Kalashnikov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Andrei Kalashnikov has been cut.
Vos throws an off balance right hand

and Kalashnikov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kalashnikov.

Vos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kalashnikov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kalashnikov has Vos in his guard.

Vos gets to his feet - Kalashnikov follows without any prompting.
Vos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kalashnikov.
Kalashnikov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Vos throws a combination that misses

and Kalashnikov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vos's guard.

Kalashnikov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vos is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kalashnikov, into his guard.
Vos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kalashnikov on the ground.

Vos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kalashnikov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vos has managed to get both his arms back between Kalashnikov's legs - danger averted.

Kalashnikov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vos defends well.
Vos wants to get up but he can't break Kalashnikov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Vos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kalashnikov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vos defends well.
Kalashnikov has a closed guard, preventing Vos from standing up.

That was a close round but I would say that Vinny Vos will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Vos misses with a series of wild punches.

Kalashnikov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kalashnikov looking to sit in guard and control but Vos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kalashnikov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kalashnikov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vos defends it easily.

Kalashnikov throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vos uses it to pass to side control.

Vos has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Kalashnikov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vos!

Kalashnikov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Vos has worked his arm free - good work by Vos!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kalashnikov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vos has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalashnikov is trying to get an arm triangle but Vos is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrei Kalashnikov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Kalashnikov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vos lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Vos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kalashnikov.
Vos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kalashnikov throws a head kick but Vos moves out of range.

Vos lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kalashnikov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vos but Vos pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Vos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kalashnikov working for submissions but it's allowed Vos to get to half guard.
Vos wants to get back to his feet.
Kalashnikov preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kalashnikov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Kalashnikov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vos is looking to stand up but Kalashnikov won't let him.
Kalashnikov wants to sweep but no luck.

Kalashnikov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vinny Vos.
I think Vos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
