Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hannu Karpo!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karpo throws a head kick that misses

and Ruusperi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ruusperi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Karpo's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ruusperi's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Karpo wants to stand but Ruusperi is controlling the position.
Ruusperi wants to control from the top but Karpo keeps moving.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Ruusperi throwing strikes from guard but Karpo blocks nicely.
Karpo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruusperi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ruusperi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruusperi tries to free his leg and advance position but Karpo is retaining full guard.
Ruusperi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Karpo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ruusperi postures up and lands a big shot to Karpo's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruusperi stays in close to Karpo's body and controls the position.
Karpo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Karpo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ruusperi is looking to escape.

Karpo blocks Ruusperi's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Karpo prevents Ruusperi from getting the reversal.
Ruusperi is squirming around, avoiding Karpo's attempts to control the action.

Karpo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Ruusperi is desperately trying to improve his position but Karpo has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ruusperi regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keke Ruusperi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ruusperi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Karpo counters with a body kick.
Karpo tries a head kick but it misses.
Ruusperi shoots in looking for a takedown. Karpo tries to sprawl out of it but Ruusperi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Karpo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ruusperi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karpo sprawls well. Karpo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ruusperi gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keke Ruusperi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karpo tries to land a leg kick but Ruusperi saw it coming and moves away.
Ruusperi has his takedown stuffed
and Karpo counters with an outside leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karpo scores with a nice body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Karpo seems to be stalking Ruusperi here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Ruusperi drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Hannu Karpo!
