The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Son there.
Guetzlaff tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Guetzlaff takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Guetzlaff needs to keep his hands up - Son had a free shot at his head there.
Son tries to bum rush Guetzlaff with a series of wild strikes but Guetzlaff uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Son misses with an uppercut.
Son connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Son scores with a body shot.
Son throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Guetzlaff's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Son dives in looking to finish as Guetzlaff flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Son's strikes! Son is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Guetzlaff's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Guetzlaff was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
