PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Momo Djembe Djembe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perkele Saatana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perkele Saatana told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Djembe Djembe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Djembe Djembe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Saatana is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Saatana tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Djembe Djembe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Saatana counters with a nice low kick that buckles Djembe Djembe's knee momentarily.

and Saatana counters with a head kick that drops Djembe Djembe to the mat! Djembe Djembe scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Djembe Djembe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Saatana eats them both and turns towards Djembe Djembe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Saatana counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

The fight stays on the outside here - Saatana looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Saatana shoots in looking for a takedown but Djembe Djembe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Saatana's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Saatana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Djembe Djembe throws a hook to the side of Saatana's head but Saatana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Saatana wants to control from the top but Djembe Djembe keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perkele Saatana dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Saatana dives in and grabs Djembe Djembe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Djembe Djembe pushes down on Saatana's head and hops out.

Momo Djembe Djembe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Perkele Saatana.
Djembe Djembe thuds his right hand into Saatana's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Saatana. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Djembe Djembe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Djembe Djembe clobbers Saatana with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Saatana takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Djembe Djembe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Djembe Djembe feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Saatana sprawling to the canvas! Saatana rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Djembe Djembe finish him?!

Saatana is rocked!
Djembe Djembe drops Saatana with a straight right hand, right on the button! Djembe Djembe follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
