The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Selby goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Redd doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Selby counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redd is defended easily by Selby.
Redd gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Selby.
Selby fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Selby misses with a body kick.
Redd fails with a takedown attempt.
Rick Selby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scottie Redd.
Selby tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Redd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Selby as he jumps to the side.

Selby drives through with a takedown into guard.

Redd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Selby doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Selby manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Selby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Redd on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Selby gets to his feet and stands over Redd, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Redd felt that one! Selby unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Redd from any more punishment!
