Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Taio Grazen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank James Edgar! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edgar throws a combination that misses and Grazen counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Grazen stops Edgar from getting back to his feet.
Edgar is defending against the submission attempts here by Grazen.

and Grazen counters with a good, hard body kick but Edgar shrugs it off. Grazen connects with a looping right hand.
Grazen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Frank James Edgar has been cut. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grazen is defended easily by Edgar. Grazen throws the kick towards the body but Edgar avoids it. Grazen shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taio Grazen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Grazen is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Edgar. The fighters circling - Grazen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grazen doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Edgar to counter with a crisp jab. Edgar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Grazen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Edgar is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Grazen is controlling him well. Grazen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Edgar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Edgar is trying to get back to his feet. He might have it! No, Edgar has escaped the position, nice work there. Edgar manages to get back to half guard. Edgar is trying to stand up here but Grazen is controlling him well. Edgar scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A combination from Edgar does no damage. Grazen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Edgar looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grazen is working for a submission of some sort.
Frank James Edgar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Grazen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
