Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Engine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bateman has chosen Dio - Push as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Engine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brock Bateman!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Engine misses with a jab, cross combination.
Engine throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Good shot there by Bateman.
Engine connects with a looping right hand.
Bateman rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Engine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bateman's guard.
Bateman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Engine can't escape the position.
Bateman in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Engine tries to lock up and control but Bateman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Engine is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bateman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Engine is looking to escape.
Engine tries to hold on but Bateman pushes him away.

Engine regains half guard.
Engine wants to get back to full guard but Bateman has passed into side control.
Engine sneaks back into half guard.
Engine is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Engine actively working from the bottom here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bateman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Engine looking for submissions off his back.
Bateman controlling the action here.

Bateman is taking a breather. Engine says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Engine looking for a kimura from the bottom but Bateman passes into side control!
Bateman is staying tight to Engine's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Engine tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Bateman presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Bateman lands a heavy elbow.
Bateman looking to control but Engine is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Engine gets back to half guard.
Engine is looking to get back to full guard here but Bateman has managed to pass to side control instead.
Engine is not content to let Bateman control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Bateman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bateman misses with a looping right.
A telegraphed right hand from Bateman misses the target.
Engine misses with a takedown attempt
and Bateman counters with a nice uppercut.
Engine with a poor takedown
and Bateman counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Engine shoots and misses
and Bateman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Engine. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bateman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Bateman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bateman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Engine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Oooooh!!! Bateman has knocked Engine down with a huge combo! Bateman steps away and waves a wobbly Engine back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Engine is rocked!


It looks like Thomas Engine has been cut.
Engine slips a jab from Bateman.
Bateman throws a hook but Engine blocks it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bateman throws a nice looking combination but Engine bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bateman sends Engine crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bateman is motioning to the referee to let Engine up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Bateman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Engine.
Engine uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bateman.
Nice body punch from Bateman.

Bateman lands a left and a right that send Engine crashing to the mat, dazed. Bateman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Engine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bateman.
Bateman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Engine manages to avoid it.
Bateman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brock Bateman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Engine ducks under a wild hook from Bateman.

Bateman lands an overhand right.
Bateman misses with a body shot.
Bateman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Engine sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Engine shoots and misses
and Bateman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Thomas Engine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bateman drops Engine with a beautiful combination! Engine stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bateman is looking for the KO!

Bateman lands a nice shot that snaps Engine's head back.
Oh Engine is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bateman throws a right and a left that Engine avoids nicely.
Engine seems to have got his legs back now.
Bateman takes a swing at Engine's ribcage but misses.
Engine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bateman.
Bateman misses with a hook.

Bateman lands a left and a right that send Engine crashing to the mat, dazed. Bateman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bateman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Engine doesn't seem bothered though.

Engine drops his hands momentarily and Bateman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Engine tries to move into range but Bateman moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Bateman's corner calls for a 1-2. Bateman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bateman cracks a nice hook into Engine's ribs.
Engine slips under a jab from Bateman.
Bateman throws a combination. Engine tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jab, jab by Bateman - just one landing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bateman with a nice cross.
Bateman fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Engine square on the jaw! Damn, Engine is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brock Bateman!
