The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawke shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hawke dives in and scores a takedown into Silva's guard.

Hawke drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Hawke off! Hawke jumps back into Silva's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hawke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Hawke is proving a slippery customer.
Hawke stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Silva pulls Hawke in close to prevent any damage.
Silva wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hawke is now in half guard.
Silva is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hawke is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position.

Hawke is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.
Well, if Hawke is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Silva is working an open guard so Hawke takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hawke lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hawke.

It looks like Mr Anderson Silva has been cut.

Silva feints and then cracks Hawke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hawke down.
Silva throws a shot from downtown. Hawke moves away and avoids it.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Hawke kicks off Silva and gets to his feet.

Hawke drops Silva with a left and a right! Oh, Silva is hurt - Hawke dives into side control looking to finish!

Silva is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hawke has an Americana. Silva didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hawke is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hawke hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
