The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray tries to close the distance and clinch but Dekkers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dekkers just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ray's brow.

Dekkers is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ray is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dekkers to the mat. Dekkers regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Dekkers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dekkers has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ray is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dekkers.

Ray is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dekkers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

and Ray decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dekkers's guard.
