Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zhenzhou Jiang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexio Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jiang was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Silva passes into half guard.
Silva is taking a breather. Jiang says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jiang wants to get back to full guard.
Silva stalling away here and it's allowed Jiang to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Jiang is keeping the position.
Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Jiang has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

Jiang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jiang seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A lull in the action here as Silva stalls from top position.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Jiang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Silva avoids the attempt from Jiang to control.
Silva looking to control but Jiang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jiang is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jiang turns into him and now he's in Silva's guard.

Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jiang is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silva.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jiang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jiang closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Silva's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jiang is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jiang postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jiang, into his guard.

Alexio Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
