Murdock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: A-Team . Captain HM Murdock is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paulo Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Captain HM Murdock!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Murdock misses the target.
A nice combination there by Murdock.
Murdock swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murdock throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dias is looking to land body kicks.
Murdock shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dias eats them both and turns towards Murdock to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Murdock stalks Dias and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dias's face. Dias staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Murdock fails to land with a series of punches.
Captain HM Murdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murdock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch combination from Dias misses.
Murdock moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Dias is rocked!
Murdock swinging wildly here.
Oh Dias is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murdock misses with a combination

and Dias counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dias.
Dias seems to have got his legs back now.
Murdock keeping moving, preventing Dias from controlling successfully.
Dias's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dias passes Murdock's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murdock pushes Dias off looking to stand but Dias dives back in and keeps control.
Dias throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dias not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dias throwing shots but Murdock is blocking nicely.
Murdock is trying to stand.
Murdock looks gassed!

Dias is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dias not doing much here.
Murdock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dias. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dias is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dias seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murdock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murdock can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dias not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Murdock looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dias thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murdock's head.
Dias sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Murdock defending well though.
Dias is looking to take a break and control but Murdock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Murdock is looking to escape.
Dias perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dias stops Murdock from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Murdock is defending against the submission attempts here by Dias.

Murdock is kicking away at Dias from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Dias grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Murdock trying to push Dias off... Murdock taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Paulo Dias!
