Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Champa Bhang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Conway!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhang slips a jab and a cross from Conway.
Conway looks to land a combination but Bhang avoids it well.

Conway shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bhang napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Conway throws an elbow but Bhang slips to the side and avoids it well.
Bhang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Conway wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Conway thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bhang is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Conway's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Bhang moves into full guard.
Conway stopping the sweep attempt from Bhang.

Bhang manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bhang controlling the pace for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Conway is trying desperately to improve position.
Conway looks gassed!
Bhang controlling from the full mount.
Bhang's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Conway is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Champa Bhang wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bhang ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Conway slips under a jab.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Conway fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bhang manages to avoid it.
Conway throws a poor cross that misses
and Bhang counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Conway misses with an uppercut

and Bhang counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Conway's guard now.
Bhang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Conway takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Bhang shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Conway's guard.
Bhang controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bhang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Champa Bhang.
Conway throws a jab when Bhang was well out of range.

No joy there for Conway, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Conway steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bhang.

Bhang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Conway sprawls well initially but Bhang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bhang is taking a breather. Conway says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We're going to have a standup here because Champa Bhang wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bhang tries to clinch but Conway moves out of range.
Bhang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Conway.

Conway throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Conway closes the distance and pushes Bhang back into the cage.
Bhang can't get the takedown.
Bhang throws an elbow that misses.
Bhang looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Bhang stalling in the clinch but Conway improves position.

Jimmy Conway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bhang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bhang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bhang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Conway misses with a combination

and Bhang counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Conway's guard now.
Bhang sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Champa Bhang has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Conway takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Conway ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Conway throws a right hand that Bhang ducks under and follows up with a left that Bhang also avoids with ease.
Conway throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Bhang counters with a leg kick.
Bhang misses with a body kick.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bhang ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bhang fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Conway to the ground. Bhang is now in Conway's guard.
Bhang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bhang is pushing down on Conway's leg trying to pass to half guard. Conway is fighting to maintain full guard but Bhang has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bhang is taking a breather. Conway says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bhang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Conway for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Champa Bhang just wasn't active enough.
Bhang fails with an attempt to clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Conway enables Bhang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Conway manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bhang is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Bhang takes a swing at Conway's ribcage but misses.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Bhang throws a wild body kick that Conway sees coming a mile off.
Bhang turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bhang bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Conway throws a sloppy head kick
and Conway takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bhang is taking a breather. Conway says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Conway is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Champa Bhang.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bhang. Conway shrugs it off though.
Bhang tries to bum rush Conway with a series of wild strikes but Conway uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That kick from Bhang tenderised Conway's leg. Conway is trying to keep his angry face on.
