Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rob Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A punch lands to the side of Mendez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
James connects with a crisp jab.
James jabs Mendez right on the nose. Mendez blinks but takes it well.
Mendez tries for a takedown but James circles away easily
and James counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mendez thinking.
Mendez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mendez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James tests Mendez's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mendez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Rob Mendez has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
James fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
James stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
James with a nice cross.
Mendez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
James scores with a jab to the jaw.
James uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
James feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mendezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
James connects with the punch.
Mendez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
James stalks Mendez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mendez's face. Mendez staggers backwards, shaken.
Mendez wants to clinch
and James counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from James finds it's way round the side to connect with Mendez's head.
Mendez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mendez fails with the takedown
and James counters with a left to the body.
Alexander James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Mendez.
Mendez looks gassed!
James lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice uppercut there from James.
A jab from James finds it's way through Mendez's defenses.
Nice cross by James.
A decent looking cross lands there for James.
Mendez takes one to the side of the head.
Nice uppercut lands for James. That snapped Mendez's head back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A jab lands there for James.
James scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nice cross by James.
Mendez ducks right into an uppercut from James.
That has opened up Rob Mendez's cut even more.
James getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
James fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
James slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
James connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mendez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
James scores with a punch to the head.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by James!
James lands with a hook. Mendez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
James goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
James is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Mendez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Alexander James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mendez takes a jab right on the kisser.
The cut above Rob Mendez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Mendez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
James drops Mendez with a beautiful combination! Mendez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - James is looking for the KO!
Mendez is rocked!
Mendez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mendez is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him?
Rob Mendez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mendez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mendez seems to have recovered his senses.
James fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
James throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mendez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
James connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mendez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
James tests Mendez's chin there with a solid looking shot.
James is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
James scores with a jab to the jaw.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rob Mendez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
