Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alekai Petrovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Battle comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Break Stuff kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andre Battle!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Battle.
Battle is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Petrovich counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

A slow jab from Petrovich misses its intended target.
Battle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Petrovich counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Battle thinking.

Battle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Petrovich pinned against the cage. Petrovich gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

letting Battle counter with a right hand.

and Petrovich counters with a nice right hand that sends Battle toppling to the canvas! Battle scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Petrovich finish him?!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Battle shoots in looking for a takedown but Petrovich manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Battle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Alekai Petrovich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Battle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Battle misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Battle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Battle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Petrovich might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Battle is trying to ground and pound but Petrovich uses the momentary lack of control by Battle to regain half guard.
Petrovich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Battle on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Battle wants to free his trapped foot but Petrovich is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Battle is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Petrovich fails to land with a series of punches.
Battle scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Petrovich doesn't seem bothered though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Battle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Battle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Battle thows a huge punch but Petrovich dodges it nicely.

Battle looks to land a strike but Petrovich avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Battle is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Battle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Battle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Petrovich, who protects the arm well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
