Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julio Cesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Giordano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cesar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Saliva - Superstar. Giordano has chosen Godfather Theme (hip hop remix) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cesar throws the kick towards the body but Giordano avoids it.
Giordano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cesar sprawls well. Cesar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Giordano gets slowly back to his feet.
Cesar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Giordano manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cesar moves forwards but Giordano connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cesar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giordano is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Giordano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Giordano postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cesar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Giordano, into his guard.

Cesar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Giordano, up you get!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cesar throws a looping overhand right but Giordano ducks down to avoid it.
Giordano sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
