Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Evan D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan D has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan D!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaughn looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Vaughn wants to control from the top but D keeps moving.
Vaughn looking to pass the guard.
Vaughn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Vaughn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vaughn trying to control the position from guard on top but D is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rick Vaughn was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and D counters with a flying knee that drops Vaughn!


Vaughn is rocked!
D would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Vaughn wants to sweep here but D controlling him for the moment.

D gets to his feet. Vaughn looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Vaughn tries to score a power double leg takedown but D sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vaughn somewhat.

D throws Vaughn to one side and escapes!

and D counters with a big head kick but Vaughn shrugs it off.
Evan D has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Vaughn.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
D throws a head kick that Vaughn semi-blocks.

and Vaughn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
D throws a head kick but Vaughn moves out of range.
D defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vaughn.
D throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
No joy there for D, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Evan D is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
D stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and D wants it to stay on the feet.

Vaughn drives through with a takedown into D's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
D is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vaughn is controlling him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

D moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Vaughn doesn't succeed with the takedown
and D cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Evan D has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Vaughn.
D misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vaughn shoots in looking for a takedown but D manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vaughn's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

D is trying to stand up here but Vaughn is controlling him well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

D wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vaughn.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vaughn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… D is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by D and Vaughn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vaughn decides to stand back up.

Rick Vaughn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vaughn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
