Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Automatic Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Fennessy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasquel's entrance music is Kung Fu Panda. A fine choice. Fennessy has chosen Metallica - Harvester of Sorrow as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquel closes the distance and clinches up with Fennessy, looking for a takedown. Vasquel pushes Fennessy against the cage but Fennessy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fennessy stuffs the takedown.
Vasquel shoots in and drives through. Fennessy sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Automatic Vasquel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fennessy stuffs the takedown attempt from Vasquel. Vasquel gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Fennessy. No joy for Vasquel on that attempt.
Vasquel tries to clinch up but Fennessy circles away and keeps his distance.
Fennessy throws a nice outside leg kick.
Vasquel shoots for a takedown but Fennessy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Vasquel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fennessy pinned against the cage. Fennessy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vasquel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fennessy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vasquel takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab-cross combination lands for Fennessy and sends Vasquel crashing to the mat! Fennessy follows him down to the mat - Vasquel regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Automatic Vasquel has been cut.

Fennessy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fennessy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Vasquel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fennessy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Fennessy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vasquel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Vasquel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vasquel wants to improve his position but instead Fennessy has moved into half guard.

Vasquel is defending against the submission attempts here by Fennessy.
Fennessy is looking to advance position but Vasquel won't allow it.
Fennessy is looking to take a break and control but Vasquel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Vasquel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fennessy tries to avoid it but Vasquel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fennessy to the ground. Fennessy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vasquel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fennessy - the referee stops the clock and Vasquel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fennessy. Vasquel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fennessy has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Vasquel is trying to keep an underhook but Fennessy manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Vasquel is looking for a sweep. Fennessy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasquel is refusing to be controlled, as Fennessy sits in half guard.
Vasquel is pressing down on Fennessy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Vasquel has his foot on Fennessy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fennessy works his way back into a safe position though.

Fennessy is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Vasquel has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fennessy is looking to defend but Vasquel has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fennessy! Vasquel pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fennessy taps out and this one is all over!
