Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Matos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duncan Foreshore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matos is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Lucas Matos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Duncan Foreshore!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matos swats away the attempt to clinch by Foreshore.

Matos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Foreshore manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matos has Foreshore in his guard.

Foreshore is looking to take a break and control but Matos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Matos has hold of Foreshore's hands but Foreshore slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Foreshore wants to control but Matos is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Foreshore throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Matos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Foreshore is in Matos's guard.

Matos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Foreshore gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Foreshore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Matos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Matos counters with a nice double leg into side control. Foreshore won't be happy with that.

Matos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Foreshore is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Duncan Foreshore has got the better of the ground game so far.
You can see the frustration on Foreshore's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Foreshore is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Matos has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Matos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Foreshore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lucas Matos will probably get the nod.

Matos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well Foreshore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
