Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Valensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobuhiro Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valensky comes to the cage accompanied by Jesus Built My Hotrod- Ministry. Nakamura has chosen Breathe as his entrance music. Mikhail Valensky had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikhail Valensky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nobuhiro Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valensky closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Valensky struggles to land a body shot inside as Nakamura controls his hands.

Nakamura drags the fight down to the ground.
Nakamura controls Valensky momentarily but Valensky frees himself.
Valensky throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nakamura works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Valensky has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nakamura is proving hard to escape from.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamura pulls Valensky in close to prevent any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nobuhiro Nakamura hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Valensky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nakamura manages to avoid it.

Valensky keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mikhail Valensky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nobuhiro Nakamura.

and Nakamura counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valensky's guard now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Valensky is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nakamura is controlling him.

Valensky will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nakamura connects with a nice short shot to Valensky's temple.

You get the feeling that Valensky really doesn't like being in this position too much.
