The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Macatangay decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.

Macatangay is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Macatangay on the ground.

Macatangay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Macatangay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Macatangay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Macatangay has hold of Silva's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Silva tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Macatangay cranks the arm and Silva screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Silva, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
